A Roundtable Discussion Lead by Visiting Scholar Caren Irr (Brandeis University)

Caren Irr is Professor of English at Brandeis University where she teaches theory, global studies, film, and the novel. Her books include Toward the Geopolitical Novel: U.S Fiction in the Twenty-First Century, Pink Pirates: Contemporary American Women Writers and Copyright, and The Suburb of Dissent: Cultural Politics in the United States and Canada during the 1930s. Recent essays examine 21st-century concepts of worldliness, climate fiction, and neoliberal orphan stories. She is currently working on a project that explores the value of stoic philosophy for contemporary environmental writing.
